About OAF

Who we are?

The Oluwarotimi Akeredolu Foundation is a non-profit organization established by the late Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu SAN, CON, who passed away in 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was a visionary leader, a distinguished lawyer, and a passionate advocate for democracy, human rights, and development. He served Ondo State and Nigeria with bravery, doggedness, and integrity, leaving behind a legacy of achievements and reforms that improved the lives of millions of people.

The Oluwarotimi Akeredolu Foundation aims to honor his memory and continue his mission by supporting initiatives that promote health, education, justice, and innovation in Nigeria. We believe that every Nigerian deserves the opportunity to lead a healthy, productive, and dignified life, and that by fostering creative thinking and collaboration, we can find innovative solutions to the challenges facing our nation.

What We Do

The Oluwarotimi Akeredolu Foundation operates under the following objectives:

Health & Well-being

To provide innovative ways that will ensure people lead healthy, productive lives. We support programs that improve the health outcomes and well-being of Nigerians, especially those who face health challenges or lack access to quality health care. We also support research and development of new technologies or methods that can enhance health and productivity.

Democracy & Justice

To focus on the establishment of democracy through programs that advance democratic and accountable governance, justice, education, and public policy. We support initiatives that promote the values and principles of democracy, such as free and fair elections, human rights, rule of law, transparency, and accountability. We also support efforts that improve the quality and accessibility of education, as well as the formulation and implementation of public policies that serve the public interest.

Human Rights & Institutions

To develop programs that will strengthen institutions in enforcing human rights laws and standards. We support efforts that seek to strengthen the capacity and effectiveness of institutions, such as the judiciary, the media, the civil society, and the security sector, in upholding and enforcing human rights norms and obligations.

Jobs & Human Capital

To provide low income earners the prospect of obtaining further education and credentials to improve their lives. We support programs that provide skills training, vocational education, or certification that can enhance the employability and income potential of low income earners.

Creative Thinking

To foster creative thinking that will lead to innovative solutions to the problem of job creation and human capital development. We support initiatives that encourage entrepreneurship, innovation, and collaboration among different stakeholders in the society.
